This page features pickguards for Gibson' "L" series Hollowbodies. These beautiful archtops really display Orville Gibson's concept of guitars built using the physics & engineering of violin-family instruments. Many of the unusual features on the instruments shown here were the result of Lloyd Loar's work at the Gibson Company.
In general, these are mounted either by a screw into the top of the body by the neck or with a small brad extending out of the fingerboard fitted into a small block on the back of the guard. At the lower end, they usually use a bracket with either a screw through the middle of the pickguard or threaded into a block glued to the back of the guard. Either way, the guard floats above the top of the body.
For the bracket, we have the threaded rod or screw-on type in chrome only. They are $12.50 & include all screws, etc. Just ask when you place your order.
