Music Man began in the early 1970s, a collaboration of extremely talented industry professionals including Leo Fender & Forrest White. Eventually the company was taken over by Ernie Ball, a pro pedal steel player & operator of the very first music store specializing in electric guitars. The company's culture today is still driven by extremely talented individuals; Dudley, Linda, Jon, the 2 Brians, Tomas, Drew, and of course Sterling Ball. Sterling is an amazing bassist & guitarist, and blew us away at a show once by playing guitar in all positions; left handed, right handed, guitar on stand, guitar flat on table...he retired last year. In visiting the Music Man factory, we quickly realized that this is the most well organized company in our industry; everyone from the top engineers & programers to the guys who sweep the sawdust are experts at their job, and approach their work from an artistic perspective. Together they have created a serious, state of the art manufacturing company without becoming corporate. And don't forget to try Ernie Ball Cobalt strings...they are the best!
Generally, the Music Man Pickguards have a part number on the back. This number will tell us exactly which part to make that will match your guitar & the screw holes, etc. On the imported ones, you will need to send us your original guard to copy; we'll return it to you with the new one.
